in art and otherwise

This is a mixed media piece that I completed about a year ago on a 16"x20" gallery wrap canvas. Any yoga lovers out there? This turned out to be a random piece that has a different style than my usual work...I believe that it is good practice to stretch beyond your norm and comfort level...in art and otherwise.

pretty pastel pout

I have been working on my website design. And here is a sneak peek of a potential opening page...I love the look of this girl. Wouldn't you want her for a friend? Yes, I think I will use her pretty pastel pout on my website. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!

red boats with blue sails

This isn't a new painting, but it is a favourite. There is something about these quirky houses that make them fun to paint...I could live in a neighbourhood full of colourful houses like this...even better with a lake and a little red sailboat right outside my front door.

homemade birthday ideas

This is one of two birthday paintings for friends of my daughters. This is painted on 16"x20" canvas...notice the horseshoe and "dance" that we added to personalize it just for Raven. We were impressed how the first one turned out so P wanted one for her friend as well. Something fun that they can hang in their bedroom. Now my girls want one for above their own beds as well....

for starters...

I have great intentions to keep this blog current and document how my artwork evolves . I also have great hopes to eventually open an ETSY SHOP... I will link to my website as soon as it is complete. Now that it has been officially proclaimed...no more procrastinating.

I thought I should post my painting with the snow fall before all of our snow has melted. No more reminders of winter after this...I promise. Welcome spring!
